Captain Jack: Tell me about Felicity Feline.

Felicity Feline: I grew up on Long Island. I have a really amazing family, we’re all really close. My parents threw us into sports so I was a really active child. I had a lot of energy. I was playing drums in elementary school and my parents were glad about that because that was another way for me to get my energy out. (laughs) I’m still very close to my family. I haven’t lived in New York for some time but I still visit them regularly.

CJ: Do they know about your career right now?

Felicity: Yes. They know everything about me, I don’t hide anything. My parents know I do porn. They understand why I’m doing it but it just took them a little while to understand. I went to college for photography and graphic design for 2 years then I transferred and went for sociology and nutrition so I have a good academic background. My parents are very successful people so they were kind of hurt at first. They didn’t understand why I would do porn but I explained to them that I have a fallback and can go into nutrition if I wanted to but I’m an entertainer. I want to play music and I want to do art. Porn is a really good promotional tool. I’m not passionate about it. I look at it as an art. Well, I am passionate in a sense but it’s not my main priority. It’s a really good fueling force for my other projects.

CJ: How old are you?

Felicty: I’m 24 now.

CJ: How long have you been in the industry?

Felicity: About 3 years, on and off. I did my first one when I was 20 then I didn’t do another one for almost a year. I did a couple more and then I went on Ink Master on Spike TV and met my ex on there. We started working tattoo expos together and eventually started dating. He basically told me that he wasn’t comfortable with me shooting porn while we were dating. I totally understood so I quit for another year. When we broke up, I decided that I would take it seriously this time and get an agent and start getting good work with good companies. I permanently moved out to Los Angeles because I was going back and forth for a long time. Just started building more connections, working with good companies and I’ve grown a lot.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity?

Felicity: I want to say like 15 or 16, something around there.

CJ: Is there a good story behind it?

Felicity: Not really. I was best friend’s with someone for a long time and we were dating on and off. I remember we left school early and went back to his house. We were fooling around in his bedroom and he said, ‘Hey, we should try to have sex.’ I didn’t even have my period by then, I was a really late bloomer. It was just a strange thing. It hurt a lot so it wasn’t that enjoyable. Then we tried again about a month later and it was better. But, yeah, the first one wasn’t that exciting.

CJ: Did that open up the floodgates? Were you promiscuous after that?

Felicity: I had my share of fun in high school. I used to really be skinny and gawky and had no curves. I had no confidence because I felt like a little boy. I had this boy’s body. I was really thin. I was trying to gain weight and get my period. Finally, I began to regulate my hormones and I had my period and I got boobs. I got a lot of attention when I was 17, 18. I just started to explore my sexuality around that age. Then I started dating people and I’ve always been more of a relationship person.

CJ: Were you with girls before porn?

Felicity: Yeah, somewhat. Not anything serious, just fooling around at a party or something. To be honest, I’m not really into girls, I like men. And I’ve always known that. I’ve always been curious as to what it would be like to play with a girl. I just viewed them as playtoys. I’m not even bisexual. When I masturbate, I don’t think of women, I like men. I’m remitting feminine energy so I’m attracted to masculine energy because it balances me out.

CJ: Why did you decide to get into the adult industry?

Felicity: I was doing a lot of modeling when I was younger. More alternative modeling. I did fashion stuff too, I was even in wedding catalogues before I got a lot of tattoos. Then I started doing implied nudes, risqué stuff, a lot of lingerie. I was working this car show in San Diego. I was standing in front of this 1967 Corvette and this guy came up to me. He was very attractive and wealthy looking…I could tell that he was successful. He said, ‘Have you ever thought about shooting pornography? I own an amateur site, you would be really great for it.’ We were talking and I was a little shy. I told him I had never shot porn but I was always curious about it. I guess you could say I was always an exhibitionist, one way or another. It didn’t really seem that far fetched for me to do. He gave me his card and I checked out the website. I was doing sales jobs for nutritional companies and I was free lancing. I wasn’t making that much money and I wanted to make enough money to buy this new motorcycle. So I thought about it for a while and then I called him a few months later. I told him that I’m interested and he offered me a really good rate for my first boy/girl scene. I got tested and he sent me photos of the male talent and bought my plane ticket. So that was the first time I did it.

I was a little bit nervous but it wasn’t that overwhelming for me. It was just a strange reality for me that I was flying across country to have sex with someone I had never met before and it was getting filmed and the whole world would be able to see it. I also don’t think that I really thought about the consequences of it. The hard part for me wasn’t doing porn; the hard part was the aftermath. When it came out and people started finding out about it, I heard from people because I had lied about it. It just wasn’t the best way for people to find out. Like I hadn’t told my parents. Eventually, it all got out and it is what it is. If I could give advice to any girl that’s doing porn, I always tell them, it’s not even doing the porn that’s the hard part. There ARE some aspects that are difficult like you have to be very thick skinned and you can’t be self-conscience. But you have to be prepared for what the reactions of people are going to be. How it’s going to affect you and will you be able to handle the harassment. I got harassed really bad in the beginning. People were calling me ‘whore’ and ‘slut’ and they spray painted shit on the stop sign on my street. They linked my real name with my stage name all over the internet, it was really nasty in the beginning. But at the same time, those are people that are haters that are insecure in their own lives and they want to take it out on me because I’m living my life. Eventually, when I embraced it fully and came to terms with my reality and realized that, ‘OK, I’m doing porn, I’m a drummer, I’m a musician, I’m a producer, I’m a rock star and if someone has a fucking problem with how I live, they can go fuck themselves. As soon as I came with it and embraced it, all the harassment stopped because people knew they couldn’t hurt me.

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?

Felicity: Felicity means ‘state of happiness’ which I strive for in everything I do. Feline, obviously, catlike. I always felt like my movements and energy were very cat-like. I know I was a cat in many of my past lives. My sexuality often is very catlike. Just how I move and how I feel. My mom always called me a black cat growing up. I wanted to create a stage name that was kind of animated, like an animated character. And that’s actually the next project that I’m starting. I’m working with a couple of comic book artists and I want to develop a comic character of Felicity Feline. Then I can drop out of the picture and can be focused more on my character.

CJ: I first heard about you from Toni Ribas. He told me you’re in the upcoming Fucking Flexible 2. Where did the flexibility come from?

Felicity: I did gymnastics. I was a really, really athletic child. I had scoliosis, I had a really crooked spine. I used to do a lot of yoga and it helped straighten out my spine and my posture. It just allowed me to be really flexible. I stretch every day, I’m always working out. I’m not a gym person, I like to hike and running and walking and yoga and dance. I like to utilize my body in natural ways.

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Felicity: It really depends on the person. I have to say, probably missionary. The angle feels better. I don’t mind doggie either but there’s no real connection. In porn, doggie is really easy to do. But in my life, missionary, because I can kiss them and get a connection.

CJ: Do you have any favorite scenes?

Felicity: I can’t wait for Fucking Flexible 2 to come out. Anal Encores with Mike Adriano, I thought that was really good. Also, Perv City, with John Strong. That was a great day. I really liked working with Claudio. I can’t really say I’ve had any bad scenes. There’s also a scene coming out with Xander Corvus for Burning Angel. That scene was fucking great. I can’t wait for that to come out. He is so attractive and we vibed really well. I think we shot a great scene. It was really hot so I’m pretty excited for that one to come out.

CJ: A lot of the guys in porn are older. Does it ever bother you to work with older men?

Felicty: No, my ex was 40 years old. I tend to be more attractive to older people. I try to go for men that are 5 to 15 years older than me at least. I just enjoy people with more life experience. I tend to get along with them better. A lot of people my age don’t have much depth to them, there’s not much going on. Everyone’s different. There are some older people with no substance to them and that’s just how they are. For the most part, I find that people older than me, I can learn from them and they’re more down to earth. It’s just easier to pass information and get along.

CJ: What’s the oldest guy you’ve been with off-camera

Felicity: 48 and it was with Dave Navarro.

CJ: Have you ever been in an inappropriate sexual relationship?

Felicity: Not really. I’ve been single for a year and a half but that relationship I told you about with my ex. He was quite a bit older than me and he had 2 kids and an ex-wife. I don’t want to say it was inappropriate but I was almost like his little pet. I feel like he was really excited to have this young girl. I can’t say it’s inappropriate because if two people are in love and getting off then who fucking cares?

CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Felicity wet?

Felicity: Kissing. But I don’t really like to do it with many people. This is going to sound funny but I am very sensitive to people’s PH levels. For instance, if I’m kissing someone and they’re just not healthy, I can tell right away from their saliva and the taste of them. A lot of people are just not into kissing but if I am enjoying it, that’s the quickest way for me to get excited.

CJ: Are you submissive or dominant?

Felicity: Not so much. I’ve never really been that into porn. I don’t watch it. I only watch my own scenes and friend’s scenes. If I know I’m going to be working with someone, I’ll look them up. I don’t really care to watch it. I’m not really that type of person. I don’t get off sexually by watching porn. I’d rather just close my eyes and imagine things. I’d rather use my imagination.

CJ: When a guy pops, where do you prefer it?

Felicity: I usually like to swallow it.

CJ: You came right into the industry doing anal. Is that something you enjoy in your personal life?

Felicity: Not really. To be honest, anal is fine in scenes because I get paid more and it’s in demand but it doesn’t really feel that great. I don’t hate it. I don’t love it. I’m kind of neutral about it. My ex used to cum in my butt a lot. I didn’t mind that. He also had a vasectomy. It doesn’t do much for me. I can stimulate my vagina while I’m having sex while having anal and it’ll make me orgasm quicker. But I don’t really think it’s a natural thing. I’m practicing with a DJ controller, I’ll be writing, doing some photography stuff. Or hiking. I really like to be outdoors. I also love to dance and go to clubs and check out other artists. I like to be doing projects and staying active. I don’t own a television. I’m not really into watching TV. If I do watch a movie, it’ll be a documentary. I don’t like to waste my time on stupid activities. I like to do things that I can learn from and absorb information. I have such a hungry brain, I always just want to be absorbing information.

CJ: What kind of music do you like?

Felicity: I like a lot of different types of music but my favorite type is metal and heavy rock. Some  of my favorite bands are Pantera, Megadeath, stuff like that. I like Classic Rock too like Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Floyd, Cream, stuff like that. That’s the core music I really enjoy. I produce mainly electronic music like trap and dub step. I do enjoy that music too. It just depends. The only thing I’m really not into is country or hip hop. I’m pretty open, I like to hear different music.

CJ: What’s your favorite food?

Felicity: Most of my diet is raw food so I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I love beans, like black beans. I’m boring, I don’t really eat that much. I don’t eat out because I have food allergies and I have to be really careful. I eat a very, very clean diet. All of my diet is organic.

CJ: What do you look for a guy off-camera?

Felicity: I’ve been single for a while and I get lonely sometimes. I don’t sleep with someone outside of the industry unless I have an intention of dating them. I would never date a guy in porn. I’m just not interested. Me doing porn is enough so the last thing I would want to deal with is another person in porn. Besides, I’m a pretty monogamous person. I’m not really into the whole swinger thing. If I was dating someone and we both wanted to have a threesome, then I’d be open to that. I’m not into the whole open relationship, off fucking different people. It’s just not what I’m into. I tend to like musicians and artists, people that are creative and intuitive and emotional. People that are in touch with their emotions, that’s really important to me. I like tall guys that are in shape. I don’t like gym rats, so guys that are overly jacked, I’m not into, I’d rather have a tall man with lean muscles.

Captain Jack Interviews Whitney Wright

Whitney is a fresh faced beauty who I just had the pleasure of meeting. The interview came together quickly and she is a very engaging young woman! We had an intimate conversation and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Captain Jack: Tell me about Whitney Wright.

Whitney Wright: I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma, in a town, not the country or anything. It was good, I had a great life growing up. My mom raised me and my sister and we had a great family. I went to a private Christian school my whole life from pre-school to senior year. Looking back, I’m definitely grateful for it because it fleshed out my personality and taught me how to treat other people. Throughout all of high school, I was the funny, not-so-popular one. I lost my virginity at 15 with my first boyfriend. We’re still really good friends today. He’s a news anchor in Texas and we still talk every once in a while. But he doesn’t know what I do. (laughs)

CJ: Were you athletic, did you play any sports?

Whitney: Yes I did. I played basketball and I played volleyball in my spare time. I’ve always been very active. I still go to the gym today. I love to swim. Dancing? I love to dance. In Oklahoma, before porn, I did a lot of pole dancing and aerial silk dancing. It was really fun, plus it keeps me so flexible. It’s just a fluid movement. When you put a lot of motions together, it’s a really beautiful dance. I have to find another place like that in California.

CJ: You mentioned flexibility. How flexible are you?

Whitney: I can put one ankle behind my head, not two. I used to be able to get really close to doing the splits but, since I stopped, I lost a little flexibility. I run and lift weights and still go to the gym.

CJ: Being in basketball and volleyball, are you tall?

Whitney: No, I’m not tall at all. I’m like 5’5” or 5’6” but I was the fastest.

CJ: How old are you?

Whitney: I am 25.

CJ: After high school, did you work in the corporate world?

Whitney: Yes. I went to college for two years. I’m getting my prerequisites for nursing. Technically, I could just have my transcripts transferred here and get into a nursing program. But I don’t think I want to do nursing for the rest of my life.

CJ: How long have you been in the industry?

Whitney: Almost 3 months.

CJ: Once you lost your virginity at 15, did you sleep around a bit?

Whitney: Actually, I didn’t. I stayed with that one for a while. Then I slept around a little bit before I got into another serious relationship. After I graduated high school, I was more promiscuous, I’d say. When you grow up in a private Christian school and they tell you to repress all sexual feelings then you’re going to be more apt to explore.

CJ: Do you have a count of how many guys did you sleep with before porn?

Whitney: Oh God, no. Wait. Before porn, I was a little promiscuous in high school then I had a bigger promiscuous streak in college then I got into a 4-year long relationship where I was only with one guy. Then, after I got out of that relationship, I met this 34-year old guy. It was a super crazy Christian Grey situation. I met him off Seeking Arrangement. I decided to try it just so I could be like, ‘This is sooo stupid!’ Just to see what weirdos would contact me. But then I met this guy. He owned a lot of banks, he flew his own private jet around, we would go to these crazy swinger parties in Mexico and Vegas. It was a crazy situation but it was really fun. In that period of time, I was still kind of reserved, in regards to I had only had boy/girl sex. I had never had a threesome but I always wanted to. With him, he was always curious. ‘What haven’t you done?’ ‘What do you want to do?’ ‘Let’s do it!’ I had my first threesome with him and I had my first orgy with him too. I think after being with him for a year, I have no idea how many people I’ve slept with. (laughs)

CJ: I have to ask about the sugar daddy thing. Do you lead him along for a while before sleeping with him so you get cash from him?

Whitney: Yes. I read up on it because I was curious on how the whole thing worked because this is kind of on the skirts of something risque’. I wanted to hold out. When we were on our first date, I had been stood up by another guy. I was going to meet him at a bar/restaurant and he left me waiting in the parking lot for an hour. He didn’t call or text after I had drove for an hour. After he blew me off, I contacted this other guy who I ended up dating for a year. I asked if he wanted to have dinner right now so he met me. The first guy texted me at dinner saying he wasn’t comfortable because he thought I was a scam. Anyways, I wanted to wait but I ended up drinking too much and I thought I was safe because I was on my period. We ended up talking after dinner and ended up making out in his car. He asked if I wanted to get a hotel and I said, ‘I can’t!’ But he eventually wore me down and we got a hotel. After that, we saw each other once a week and I ended up getting a monthly allowance. It was a pretty sweet setup. It was really fun.

We stopped going out because he ended up working too much and I was traveling. It was really great while it lasted. I was really reserved and shy and self-conscious when I met him. One of the great things about older guys is that they bring you out of your shell. He told me, ‘You’re a bad ass! You’re 23, you’re hot, you have no reason to be self-conscious.’ I grew a lot after meeting him. It was a good experience.

CJ: You said you were never with girls. Usually in college, girls like to experiment. You didn’t even do that?

Whitney: No, I was too concerned with boys. We had a Halloween Party one night and me and one of my friends didn’t even go. We were in the 4^th floor dorm and she dared me to go downstairs in my pajama shorts, topless, and knock on the baseball guy’s door and ask for some sugar. I did and I didn’t even have a jacket on. It was totally crazy. I was too boy crazy to be focused on girls.

CJ: So you came out of your shell with the sugar daddy, why did you decide to get into porn? That’s still a huge step!

Whitney: My whole life has been a series of impulsive decisions that I followed through with and didn’t really think of the consequences. Usually, it’s gone pretty well for me. The website was an impulse thing and I started dancing before I got into porn. That was an impulse thing too. I went with a guy friend one night, never danced before. He was going to go alone and I said, ‘Don’t go alone, I’ll go with you and we’ll have fun.’ I went and got super drunk on margaritas. A few of his regular girls said, ‘You’re so hot! You should dance! I have some extra shoes in the back!’ So I said, ‘Yeah!’ I put her shoes on, I went up there and made a total fool of myself. I fell out of one of my shoes while I was dancing. I even had two girls come up to me and they said, ‘You’re a pretty big mess right now. You need to pull it together.’ I totally bombed but when I got off-stage, one of the female managers came up to me and said, ‘I really like you. You’re super hot. You want a job here?’ She didn’t say anything about the dancing of course. I was still drunk and just said, ‘Hell yeah!’ I thought I would just stay for a week after that. But, of course, when you’re a new girl, all the guys want you because they can sense the awkward, Bambi, deer-in-the-headlights look. I stayed and did really well. Within a few months, I ended up being the #2 earner in the club. I started going to pole dance classes and looked online to see what to do with my clothes, my makeup, how to talk, how to label people into categories and I did pretty well for myself. That was another impulsive decision that turned out really well.

Then one day I was reading this Cosmo article. I forget the gist of it but it was about this girl who was in college and started doing fetish work, foot fetish and the like. Then she got into porn and was making really good money. I’ve always been a little risky anyways and that sounded so crazy and exhilarating. I wondered if I could do that so I submitted my pictures. My agency found me and now I’m out here for 3 months. It’s been great! That’s another decision that turned out really well.

CJ: You said you looked up how to talk. How do you have to talk as a stripper?

Whitney: Just how to label people. There are certain ways you can pick up how they are and treat them a certain way. Like if one guy has a lot of money and always wants to be the center of attention or the life of the party, then you schmooze him up and say something like, ‘Oh, we shouldn’t even be down here with everyone else. We should be up in VIP.’ And there are certain guys that don’t have much money but they like to get the attention. So that type, you schmooze with them, touch their arm, cock your head to the side, show your neck. This is Strip Club Psychology 101! You give them a lot of questions that they have to give a ‘yes’ answer to like ‘There are a lot of hot girls here tonight, right?’ or ‘It’s a really busy night!’ or ‘Drinks are good!’ and they get in the habit of saying yes so when it comes time to close the deal for the private dance, you’ve got them.

CJ: Does your family know what you do?

Whitney: Yes they do. At first, they were really pissed and they still kind of are. But at the end of the day, as long as I’m happy and safe and not strung out on meth, they’re happy. At least, content. (laughs)

CJ: So what was your first scene like? You were sexually experienced but it’s different with all these people around. Were you intimidated? Nervous? Turned on?

Whitney: I was a little nervous. I was more excited though because it was something new and it was exhilarating and exciting to be finally doing it. I got rid of the nerves pretty quickly. My first scene was with FTV. It was just really great. The guy I worked with was really great and easy to get along with. He was cooperative and understanding that it was my first scene. It was really laid back.

CJ: How long did it take you to master the little tricks that girls have to do like arching, opening up and all that stuff?

Whitney: Not too long because, again, being in dance, they already tell you “Shoulders back!”, “Arch the back!”, “Point the toes!” and everything. I’ve done that from the start and I’ve been complimented by different producers and directors.

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Whitney: I don’t know. Maybe cowgirl. That one would probably take the cake as my favorite.

CJ: You said that the sugar daddy was 10 years older than you. So you don’t mind working with older guys?

CJ: Do you think there should be an 8-team playoff?

BL: My distain for the former BCS (Beyond Common Sense) is well documented. And likewise, I have publically advocated for an eight team (or more) playoff from the beginning.  This year highlights why. It’s a travesty that the B1G Champion isn’t in the playoff.  I honestly don’t believe anyone has a legitimate chance against Bama but no one thought Penn State had a chance against Ohio State either.

I have heard all of the arguments regarding the importance of the Bowl Games from a financial standpoint and while I agree that the Bowl Games are important financially,  the argument that you cant have an expanded  playoff system is 100% BULLSHIT!

Additionally,  I have heard the argument that you can’t add additional games to the schedule…. Really?   I would argue that the college guys are more able to play an extended playoff schedule than most of the 30+ year old  pro’s.  Youth has it’s benefits.

Lastly,  I have also heard the argument that an extended playoff schedule would interfere with academics…  That argument is made by those who don’t know how to plan.

Below is a solution, that in my opinion  accomplishes the following:

1. It makes each bowl more important & thus increases the value /  revenue of each bowl.   I have witnessed pitiful bowl attendance in recent years.  Why?  Because in the current system we only care about the two playoff games and The Championship.  The rest of the bowls suffer. It’s better now than under the BCS but it’s still terrible.

2. It allows ample time for college athletes to prepare for finals and to spend time with family during the holidays.

3. If a team is in the top 16 then they may potentially play an additional  1-4 games depending on whether or not they win.

4. It gives teams who had early season losses or simply an off day to redeem themselves.  I believe teams get better or worse through a season.

5. We end up with the two teams who competed the hardest in the end.

6. We end up with the most exciting sports weekend in the world.  The NCAA Championship on Saturday and the Superbowl on Sunday!

Captain Jack interviews Romi Rain

I first interviewed Romi when she was rather new to the industry. We have talked every year since then and have developed a nice friendship. I think she is one of the best performers in the industry and most people agree with me. With the year coming to an end, I had to get our annual chat in! We talked about her past year and what the future holds!

Captain Jack: Time for our annual interview! How has the last year gone for you? I was disappointed you weren’t nominated by AVN for Performer of the Year. I thought you put out some damn good scenes.

Romi Rain: Thank you. Personally, I think this is my most successful year yet. I’m the happiest I’ve been. This was a very establishing year for me. I’ve had really cool scenes and movies come out. I’ve had showcases and series and my first sex toy, The Fleshlight, came out. It was a big, awesome deal. I relaunched my website! I’ve feature danced all over the country… I’ve been busy. At least in my opinion, it’s been one of my best years. I can’t complain. Things are going well! I just didn’t get that nomination. It’s almost nicer when other people bring it up to you that they think you deserved it. It’s way better for people to think you deserve something and didn’t get it than to get something that you didn’t deserve.

CJ: You did win the Inked Awards Performer of the Year!

Romi: I did! That was awesome! This was actually the second year in a row that I won that but it was the first time I got to go to the Inked Awards. And my first Exxxotica too, actually. Deadly Rain won two awards and I won Performer of the Year, which is awesome! So some people like me! XBiz nominated me for Performer of the Year, so I can’t complain.

CJ: So before you got into porn, you were a stripper. Now you’re feature dancing. How many times a month do you go on the road?

Romi: It depends. We’re booked pretty well in advance. Sometimes it’s a month or two but sometimes it’s 6 months in advance. I try to work that out so I have one, maybe two, a month. I think more than two, you get pretty exhausted just from all the travel. In 2016, I danced in more clubs than I ever have before. I think I danced at 13 different US clubs. There were a few months that I danced at two different clubs. I think once was even 3. It’s a lot of fun! I definitely thought back to when I was 19 and the house dancer and now I’m the headlining feature dancer, the porn chick. It’s pretty cool. Go from working at the club to being the headliner at the club is kind of cool. I can’t complain. It’s hard work, it’s tiring. Travel is tiring but it’s a lot of fun. I really like it. I’m engaged when meeting my fans.

CJ: It’s legendary for rock stars to forget what city they’re in because they travel so much. Do you sometimes get confused about what city you’re in?

Romi: Sometimes, especially when you have to do layovers. That’s why I hate layovers because I think it confuses you and takes you out of the loop a little bit. It’s funny. It’s hard when you’re in several states in a month. In November, I feature danced once, in Pittsburgh. Then the week before that, I was in New Jersey for Exxxotica. So I was in California, then Jersey, then California again, then Pittsburgh, then back to California, then to Boston visiting family and then back. So when you’re in 5 or 6 different states in a month, that kind of throws you off a little bit.

CJ: Now, every city has different rules as far as nudity and touching and wardrobe goes, do the clubs send you the laws for their community once you are confirmed?

Romi: Usually. They usually tell you the important things in the contract. But I usually ask to be safe. They usually tell you, also, as soon as you get there. They’ll tell you if they’re topless or full nude or if they have liquor in the club, or no liquor. How close and far away you have to be from other girls and what you can and can’t do on stage. Some are very strict. If it’s topless only, you can’t do anything remotely sexual. And then in other clubs, you can be fully nude and practically have a mini-masturbation show on stage if you wanted to! So there’s definitely different rules in every city. It’s interesting to know what’s ok and what’s not ok. Usually, if they can have feature entertainers, it’s a nicer club, usually more upscale. They’re not too grungy.

CJ: You also have a new Fleshlight!

Romi: It’s really awesome! Like I said, this year has been kind of a solidification year. It’s made me legit. I remember talking to you two years ago, I didn’t even consider myself a pornstar yet. Everybody says, ‘When can I do that?’ Then I got nominated for POTY the first time and it was like, ‘Whoa!’ Usually, when you get nominated for that, you can call yourself a pornstar! Yeah, but now I feel like I’m finally official! It’s having a sex toy! Some people might not want to wait that long but it makes me feel good about my place in the industry. I cemented myself a little bit here so I won’t be so easily forgotten about. It’s what I really wanted so I feel flattered and happy and excited that I’m reaching the milestones that I set for myself. I just wanted to be successful and be good at what I did! When they make a mold of your vagina, it must be good I guess. (laughs)

CJ: Does it ever cross your mind that there are men around the country fucking your holes?

Romi: I guess when you think about it in that sense. It’s flattering and it’s part of the fantasy. Even when people watch my movies, people ask me if it’s weird when they watch them. No because I’m having the sex that people wish they could have. It’s a fantasy. It’s what I do, it’s not just me watching down the street getting Starbucks. It’s bedroom Romi-style. I want people to do that. It’s my sextoy. I want them to buy it and go home and fuck it.

CJ: How was it getting fitted for the toy? Was it wax?

Romi: It’s not really like wax, I think it’s more like mini-plaster. It’s like jelly foam stuff that dries and fits. It’s kind of like special effects makeup in that sense. I had my legs behind my head and a couple of guys pour it on. It’s mold and they plastered it on there and they let it dry. Then they popped it off…it’s pretty neat! People ask if it’s really me, yes it is, I really sat there and got molded for it. It’s as close as you can get, really.

CJ: When we went out for coffee last year, you mentioned your friendship with Abigail Mac. I saw you two in a couple of scenes together. How is it working with a friend? Is it better? Or is there more pressure because you really want to satisfy her?

Romi: I wouldn’t say there’s more pressure, it’s more relaxing in the sense that we know each other and you know that you can really do whatever comes to mind and whatever happens in the moment. That’s a comforting thing too. We know each other, we know we can come at each other a little bit. It depends on how you look at it. It’s nice having that familiarity, I like that in general, that’s why I like working with some of the same people. You like each other and you’ve grown to know what each other likes and it’s an easier thing. Then again, the newness can be fun too. It’s about chemistry, I’m always about chemistry. I like working with people I have good chemistry with. I think one of our scenes is nominated this year, our Ghostbusters threeway.

CJ: Is it ever weird getting intimate with a friend in front of the camera?

Romi: Not really. It’s our jobs, in that sense. We’ve worked together so many times, especially when we were both getting to know each other. We actually did more scenes in our first couple of years when we were building our sites. We’ve done way more scenes before than lately! It’s more familiarity and we know what each other is talking about. We do the same things but we’re not the same kind of characters in a sense. We do slightly different kinds of work so when we come together, it’s like a meeting of the minds.

CJ: Let’s talk about lesbian sex. When working with a girl, do you like toys involved or do you prefer for it to just be the two of you.

Romi: I think it’s good to have toys as an option but you don’t need them. And I think most women would say that most lesbian sex doesn’t involve strap-ons. I think strap-ons are more of a male fantasy of lesbians. Usually. And if toys are involved, it’s more like vibrators or a basic dildo. You don’t need too much.

CJ: What’s your favorite part of a woman?

People ask why I don’t shoot more of those but those have to be worked out, days have to be figured out and people have to be figured out. I want it to be a good day so you have to put some thought into it. Those don’t usually happen overnight.

CJ: Also, people don’t realize that not only do you have to have chemistry with the two guys, the guys have to have chemistry with each other.

Romi: Absolutely. I always say that the more people you have on a set, the more you have to worry in general. There’s more going on…more personalities, more bodies, people have to like each other, the body parts have to work on the same level. (laughs) I care about that kind of stuff so it does matter to me. Romi: She hasn’t offered it to me yet. I think if Mason called me and said she’d be done to do it, I’d consider it. Why not? I want to. I think it’d be fun to test my limits and boundaries. People have to request girls to different directors or even to different clubs, that’s how you get me there.

Captain Jack interviews Ricky Johnson

Ricky just won Best Male Newcomer at the 2017 AVN Awards! I had a chance to talk to him at the recently completed Adult Entertainment Expo, just before he won the award. He’s a really cool dude. Enjoy getting to know Ricky!

Captain Jack: How did you get your start in porn?

Ricky Johnson: It was fairly easy for me. I had my homegirl take some pictures of me, front, back and face shot. I sent it out to some agencies and they all hit me back within a couple of days asking for an interview. Sandra at OC Modeling was the most enticing because she’s a woman and I thought guys won’t really care about guys. Because she’s a woman, maybe she’ll take some extra care of me. I didn’t know she was such a great agent and I’m happy I’m here.

CJ: What were you doing before then?

Ricky: I worked at Subway in high school. Then I went to Long Beach State and ran track for 2 ½ years. I went into porn after that.

CJ: You obviously fucked a lot but how different was it to be in front of the camera?.

Ricky: It’s so different. You have to do certain angles and it’s a job. In porn, you might be doing a position and it’ll hurt but you have to stay in that position because it looks really good. At home, if I’m having sex and my leg cramps or my body hurts, I’m moving into a more comfortable position.

CJ: I know what it’s like working the 9 to 5 and sometimes you don’t want to be there. Do you suffer the same affliction in porn?

Ricky: It does happen. Sometimes, I’ll be really, really tired or have a long week or have 6 shoots in a row and I’ll be really tired. But at the end of the day, it’s still, to me, better than 9 to 5. I’m still having fun. I may be tired but as soon as the scene starts, I’m happy and can’t believe I was tired.

Captain Jack interviews Joanna Angel

Joanna is a legend in this industry. She started out as a fan and now has an empire at BurningAngel.com. She has been in the business for well over a decade and shows no signs of slowing down. I finally got a chance to speak with her at the just-completed Adult Entertainment Expo 2017.

CJ: First off, Joanna, I was quite taken by your emotional press conference last year to promote your hosting duties of the AVN Awards. Looking back from a year, how was the experience?

Joanna Angel: It was amazing. It’s a little sad this year knowing that I’m not a part of hosting the show. It definitely made me nostalgic. But it’s a part of my life that I’ll remember forever! I still can’t believe I did it. I know they only pick the absolutely top girls in the industry to do that. To think of where I started; as a fan coming to the Expo trying to figure out how to host my own website to hosting the show about 13 years later. It feels kind of surreal.

CJ: Would you like to do it again?

Joanna: Absolutely! But I don’t think they will. (laughs) It’s a one-time gig. I think Jesse Jane was the only girl who hosted twice.

CJ: You mentioned that you had never worked with your co-host before. Have you and Anikka Albrite worked together since then?

Joanna: No we haven’t! I only work for myself and we tried to do a cam show together a couple times but it just didn’t work out. We’re both very busy people. I love her and we’ve become very dear friends. That was another one of those great experiences about hosting the show, getting to know her. I feel like her and Mick are the sophisticated version of me and Small Hands. (laughs)

CJ: You have had a long and storied career in the adult industry. How and why did you first decide to get into porn?

Joanna: I started my own website when I was in college. That’s how it happened. I had an idea in college to make a site with tattooed girls.

CJ: It’s a big career move for any girl to make. Was there one moment that happened where you said that this is more than a job; that this is going to be my life’s work?

Joanna: Honestly, from the minute it started, I knew. I had this fire inside me where I really wanted to take Burning Angel and do something amazing with it. I knew from the day it launched, even though it was a website with just photos on it, nothing really. But I knew. I was driven to do so much more with it.

CJ: How do you get the girls who appear on Burning Angel?

Joanna: A lot of girls come to me on Twitter. We also have a model application on the site. Other girls come from agencies.

CJ: In your long and varied career, if someone would want the ultimate Joanna Angel scene or scenes, what would you recommend?

CJ: There is a thread on ADT that popped up a couple weeks ago that Burning Angel condones racism because of some past pictures of Ophelia Rain posing with white supremacists. Do you have any comment on this?

Joanna: When people were asking me about it, I called her out. I asked her what the deal was because it was not something I knew about. Apparently, the photo was a couple years old. She hung out with the wrong crowd for a little while. She is Jewish so it doesn’t make any sense. She’s not racist. She knows my family very well, she was a Maid of Honor at my wedding, she does not hate other races. She fucked up a couple of years ago and hung out with some shitty people. As far as Racist Romance, I haven’t hired her in over two years. I can’t tell the future. I’m not going to hire her again.

CJ: On the personal side, when you have free time, what are your hobbies and interests?

Joanna: We cook. We like to cook.

Ryan is considered one of the top male talents in the porn industry. From playing Superman to being named the 2016 XBiz Male Performer of the Year, Ryan has had an accomplished career. I had a chance to talk to him at the recently completed Adult Entertainment Expo.

Captain Jack: How did you get your start in porn?

Ryan Driller: I started looking it up. And agents replied to me. Easy as that.

CJ: There are so many pressures being a guy in the industry. Did you have to audition?

Ryan: Essentially, your audition is your first scene. Even 8 years later, you’re auditioning with every scene that you do. If you fail a couple of times, you’re out.

CJ: What were you doing before then?

Ryan: I was managing a High Venture Camp, I was working in restaurants, I worked as a radio promotions coordinator.

CJ: You obviously fucked a lot but how different was it to be in front of the camera?

Ryan: It’s such a tricky thing to word. In real life, I get to fully enjoy. It’s not that I don’t enjoy doing it on camera but on camera I have to make sure I’m open for camera, for lighting and that I’m pulling acrobatic feats so that it looks good. What we do on camera is much more of a show and presentation than it is actual sex. It just happens to have penetration and a number of bodies.

CJ: I know what it’s like working the 9 to 5 and sometimes you don’t want to be there. Do you suffer the same affliction in porn?

Ryan: No I don’t. I’m here because I want to be here. If I don’t want to work with a particular girl, I’m just not going to. And I know it’s kind of a dick move but I don’t need to be here. Anya Olsen: I was born in upstate New York and I lived there until I was 5. My family moved to this tiny, tiny, super tiny town in Kansas where everyone knew everyone and everyone was very religious. Super stereotypical Midwest town. I grew up there, from the time I was 5 until the time I was 13. I was very sheltered. Didn’t know anything about drugs or alcohol or sex, nothing like that, super sheltered. Unbelievably sheltered! CJ: Your family was very strict. How do they handle your career?

Anya: My parents, they’re actually, very surprisingly, very, very supportive. I don’t actively talk to my dad about my job in the industry but they know. My older brother knows and my older sister knows. And I have two younger brothers who, hopefully, don’t know. (laughs) But they’re at that age where they’re looking up porn. When my mom first found out, to my surprise, wasn’t angry at all. My boyfriend at the time actually told them when I was in Miami shooting. I got this phone call from my mom when I was on set. I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ She was going to be yelling and being so angry and if I listen to it right now, this scene is going to be shit. I didn’t listen to it until after my scene. All she said on the message was to give her a call when she was ready. That she was there for me and just wanted to talk. I didn’t call her back. I was flying back home the next day so I didn’t call her back. When I got back home, she picked me up from the airport and didn’t say anything. At all. It was like nothing at happened. I was getting nervous and was thinking that she was taking it way too well. For a whole month, nothing. Captain Jack Interviews Angela White

Angela is one of the top performers in the adult industry. She is also one of it’s proudest ambassadors. She has been involved in porn since she was 18 and she shows no signs of slowing down! Angela runs her own company and recently made the move to the United States so she can shoot for a wide variety of companies. This is our 3rd interview and we never run out of things to talk about!

Captain Jack: You moved from Australia and live in LA full time. Was it a culture shock to you?

Angela White: Obviously, I’ve been to the States many times so I know what I’m getting into. There are some differences between the U.S. and Australia but I wouldn’t say there was any real culture shock. It’s great to be over here, I’m very excited to be here shooting.

CJ: What’s the main differences between the two countries?

Angela: Some of the words we use are different. It’s not really that big of a deal but sometimes people will have no idea what I’m talking about. For example, you don’t use ‘savory’ in the same way that we do. In Australia, ‘savory’ is the opposite of sweet but over here, ‘savory’ is something yummy. These little differences make a difference when I communicate with people. It reminds me that I’m foreign. (laughs) We’re very laid back; Australians are very laid back. I’m in California so California is pretty laid back too so there’s not too much of a difference there. The differences are not always glaring. There are subtle differences.

CJ: What are the main differences in the views on sexuality between the two countries?

Angela: It’s really difficult to say because on some levels, I would say that we’re more open and we have more of that European influences. In other ways, we’re very much the same. We’re very open about going topless on beaches unless it’s specifically a family beach. It’s really difficult to say what the differences are.

CJ: What are the biggest changes in your life?

Angela: I’m shooting a lot more than I ever have or ever could in Australia. There is an industry in Australia but it is a lot smaller than here in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is the hub of pornography production in the world so I’m able to shoot a lot more. That’s the biggest change for me in shooting for a lot of other companies. I’m used to my own productions and now I’ve opened myself up for a lot of new experiences which is absolutely incredible. I’ve enjoyed every minute so far.

CJ: How often do you get back to Australia?

Angela: I haven’t been back yet. I’m shooting so much, there is no way I can go back. (laughs) I Skyped my family over the holiday period and that’s how we’re staying in touch.

CJ: You mainly produced your own content in Australia. Is it hard going to work for other directors now?

Angela: It really depends on who I’m shooting for. I wouldn’t say it’s difficult, it’s just different. I have to let go a little. Obviously, if I’m there as a performer then I’m helping to make the directors’ vision for this scene and movie come true. It’s not necessarily my vision. But it’s fun. It’s fun to be creative and to try and create something out of nothing with the help of a director and another performer. Sometimes, there are certain things that I would do a different way than a particular director. Sometimes that’s great because it introduces me to a new way of looking at things. I might even incorporate that into my own scenes at a later date. And sometimes I will disagree with how something is shot but it’s not my place to say anything because I’m a performer at that point. I have to let the director decide how we do things. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s difficult, it’s just a sense of letting go and realizing the director wants to create a different product. I might prefer to look a different way but I’m here for new experiences and I’m here to produce something different. I want my fans to see me in all different looks and all different lights. If I go to shoot for other directors and I don’t take their direction then I’m not going to grow as a performer.

I would also say that most directors have been respectful of the fact that I also direct and sometimes they will collaborate with me on things. There is a lot of respect that people have given me on set and that’s really lovely and a compliment. I’m really here to have as many experiences as you can. I want to open myself up to different opportunities. Maybe it’s not always the final product is as I would have imagined it but it’s something different. It’s something different for me, it’s something different for the fans and that’s exciting.

CJ: You weren’t at the awards last year but this year you cleaned up. How was it being there in person?

Angela: It was a great honor. I’m so thankful for both XBiz and AVN for honoring me again with some awards. It was great for my “Angela Loves…” gonzo movie to win some awards because I’m very passionate about the gonzo genre especially given that gonzo has been criticized from mainstream journalists to anti-porn feminists, all sorts of different areas, it’s been criticized for being degrading to women, violent, it’s been suggested that women can’t and shouldn’t enjoy gonzo. I really want to produce that series to show people that women like gonzo sex. Being a woman doesn’t mean that you only like a certain genre of pornography in your personal life. It was really fun to make that movie and really great to have it recognized as being a great movie so that was a real honor which I’m very, very thankful for. My “Angela Loves…” series won both at XBiz and at AVN which was really great because it’s my heart and soul. I put everything into that! I’m pretty overwhelmed by it, to be honest. Very, very exciting and I’m very grateful.

CJ: Our resident girl/girl lover on the ADT forums, Aya, has a few questions. Were you with a lot of girls before porn?

Angela: Yes. (laughs) Yes! Yes! Yes! I love women. I’ve been with a lot of women. I dated a lot of women, in high school as well which was one of the reasons I decided to get into porn. That was one of the reasons I decided to get into porn. No matter how I expressed my sexuality, it wasn’t accepted so when I fucked men, I was seen as a slut. When I fucked women, I was called a lesbian. Actually, in Australia, we call them lemon, that’s the derogatory term. Pornography was that space where I saw that you can have sex with as many different people as you want, various genders, group sex, whatever. It’s celebrated, rather than criticized. So, yes, I had a lot of experience with both men and women before I got into porn. And even more, elaborate and interesting things now that I’m in porn.

CJ: You mentioned your high school years and how people called you names. You got into porn when you were still in high school so were you even more ostracized from your classmates?

Angela: It was in the last year of high school when I just turned 18 and, at that point, I had really come into my sexuality and even though people weren’t going to accept me or accept my sexuality, I had accepted myself. At that point, I think that the people that were going to ostracize me, we already weren’t friends and I had already surrounded me with people that had also accepted me and had accepted that I liked to express myself sexually. I liked experimenting with things and sexuality was one of those things. I had surrounded myself with good people so I was blind to any sort of criticism from my peers. If anything, there were people that were curious and wanted to speak to me about it, people who hadn’t spoken to me before. I couldn’t be ostracized by people who were already negative towards me.

CJ: Which do you like, younger women or older women?

Angela: I really am not about age. I’m not attracted to people based on their appearance, based on their age, based on their ethnicity. I am attracted to people based on passion and chemistry, that’s what matters to me. It doesn’t matter if they’re a blonde or a brunette or skinny or fit, if they’re young or old, I just want to feel something with that person. I don’t have a preference for younger women or older women, I have a preference for connection, passion, chemistry, intensity, that’s my preference.

CJ: I was going to ask this later but since you just brought it up. The best scenes have intense chemistry between the performers, how do you create chemistry if you’re not into that person or not attracted to that person?

Angela: Because it’s not a physicality thing, it doesn’t matter if I’m not physically attracted to someone because I’m a sapiosexual – I’m attracted to their mind. Usually, I will talk to them and see what it is that makes them tick because that will turn me one. Why are they here? Why are they on set? Who is this person? What are they passionate about? It doesn’t even have to be regarding sexuality. If someone comes on set and they’re really passionate about cars or whatever it might be, and they start talking to me about it and they get animated. Their heart rate increases and they get excited and they smile, that’s that sexy energy. I believe that everybody has something that they’re passionate about. And I feel like as long as you can tap into that and can tap into that positive sexual energy, then I can find a way to connect to them.

CJ: Aya also wants to know, do you think that the Girl/Girl genre’s lower status in the industry is deserved? Personally, I don’t feel it has a lower status, I just think it’s not as popular as boy/girl.

Angela: I don’t think that people look down upon it. More and more people are looking at porn. Not only do they have more access to it but they have a right to their own sexual pleasures. That means people that may have felt ostracized by pornography, maybe they felt left out by just watching heterosexual boy/girl pornography, those people are now feeling like they have a right to watch porn too. The internet has democratized pornography. Anybody can pick up a camera and produce something. Women are watching more pornography. A wider variety of people are watching pornography and they are demanding the kind of pornography that they want to watch. The girl/girl genre is actually picking up fans. More girl/girl content is being produced. The majority of people that watch pornography are probably heterosexual males who like boy/girl content but that’s not everybody. It’s still probably the majority. As viewership changes, pornography will change. I don’t think it’s looked down upon. Like you said, it’s less popular.

CJ: Have you ever been another female performer’s first lesbian experience?

Angela: That’s a good question. I never ask people that! (laughs) I’m sure it has and I’ve forgotten. Those are little tidbits of information that never stick with me because what’s important to me is that we have a great time, we have a great connection, we have great sex. I’m pretty sure my first lesbian kiss was her first as well. I don’t know the answer to that question. I probably have been!

CJ: Speaking of which, when was your first lesbian experience. How old were you?

Angela: It depends on how you define ‘lesbian experience’. A lot of people would say, they go for the most obvious thing like the first kiss or the first time you had sex. But you can have experiences that are not necessarily sex but they are sexual. Was my first lesbian experience when I was playing doctor and nurses at a very, very young age? Was my first lesbian experience when I was in the swimming pool change room when I looked at an older woman when she was getting changed and I was getting turned on, even though I didn’t know at that point that I was turned on, just that I had some funny feelings. So what do you define as first ‘lesbian experience’?

CJ: I would say, since this is a porn interview, the first time you ate out another girl.

Angela: The first time I ate somebody else out was when I was about 14. It was a really fucking hot experience. This girl was slightly older than me and she had really long fake nails. Angela: Tori Black, for sure. Belladonna as well. I would have definitely would have loved to. I did get a chance to work with Gianna Michaels but I didn’t do a full-on scene with her. There are so many amazing performers like Sasha Grey that this could go on forever!

CJ: Any current performers that you really want to work with?

Angela: That list is way too long! I don’t even want to go there! You’ll see them all coming out on my DVDs! Every time I shoot a DVD, I think about the next movie and how I can narrow it down! There are so many amazing performers right now! I feel very, very lucky that I’m here at this point with so many performers—including men—in the industry!

CJ: Are you submissive or dominant?

Angela: I’m a switch. I’m all about energy. I don’t submit easily so I’ll need a very strong presence and a very strong dominant energy from somebody. I’m generally more dominant, especially with women. If a woman’s going to dominate me, she’s going to have to have to have a hot fucking presence and be so strong. I love to submit to women when I can but I really have to believe the woman. With men, it’s a little easier for me to be submissive because they generally tower over me so their presence is already bigger than me. If a man is bigger than me, it’s harder for me to dominate them. I’m starting from a smaller point. Doesn’t mean I can’t dominate them but, as you know, I’m very petite. I’m very small. People think I’m very tall but I’m a very small human. (laughs) When I’m with a really huge man, unless he’s willing to submit or is a submissive man and wants to submit, it’s going to be very difficult for me to get to that point. I switch and I would love for men in the industry to be willing to be submissive in scenes but it’s not necessarily the way a lot of the top performers are. I probably come across as very submissive to men and very dominant with women but that’s not the only way I roll but that’s the way it is in pornography.

CJ: Rosco Fuji wants to know about your off-screen sex life and how is it different than on-screen?

Angela: Well, I guess the main difference is that I’m so bush that it is hard for me to maintain my off-screen sex life. Obviously, I run a business. I run a website, I edit all my movies which a lot of people don’t realize. I edit all the AGW Entertainment movies. I’m editing every scene, I chooe the music, I make the cuts, I do the trailers….it takes a lot of time. Maintaining relationhips off-camera takes time and effort. I try my best to have my own personal sex life when I can but, as a business woman, it’s difficult. In terms of the actual sex, when I get to have it, it’s great! I’m in a very privileged position where I get to work with some of the best fuckers in the world. I take whatever I learn on set and take it to my own personal sex life which is a lot of fun!

CJ: How often are you recognized in public?

Angela: I don’t know. I feel like I was recognized more in Melbourne but maybe I’m too busy now to even go out in public that often. I’m not sure. I think that I’m oblivious to it. I think if I am recognized that I’m so busy that I don’t even notice. In LA, there are so many celebrities walking around, does anyone even care? Is anyone even going to look? I don’t know.

CJ: Is it tough, when you meet someone, to determine whether they like you for being a pornstar or that they like you for you?

Angela: I pretty much only have sex with and date friends. I’m not saying I wouldn’t date outside of my friend circles but I know when they’re my friends, even if we just fool around, I know that they like me for me. I’m also a very shy person so I find that meeting people in public and starting a relationship is difficult. It’s easier for me to date and have sex with people I’m friends with and I already know. It makes more sense as well because they are well aware of what I do and how it’s going to work.

CJ: Being shy, was it difficult for you at AVN because you have to be an extrovert?

Angela: The weird thing about me is that I’m shy in small situations but when it’s a big crowd, it’s not terrifying. I’m very good at public speaking, I’m very good at being in front of thousands of people, it’s more the intimate things when I get shy. It’s not difficult for me at AVN. Captain Jack interviews Carmen Valentina

Carmen has been in the industry for a while now and is starting to shoot for more and more companies. I met her at the recently completed Adult Entertainment Expo and we made plans to chat. We talked about her life and career!

Captain Jack: Tell me about Carmen Valentina.

Carmen Valentina: I grew up in Vegas. I transferred colleges and moved to Florida 8 years ago and that’s when I started in the adult industry. I’ve been mostly working on my website instead of shooting for other companies since I live in Florida.

CJ: What’s your nationality?

Carmen: It’s Bulgarian.

CJ: How old are you?

Carmen: I just turned 30 last week.

CJ: You look younger!

Carmen: I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs. I occasionally drink. I get facials all the time too so that helps.

CJ: You said you started 8 years ago, were you webcamming or what?

Carmen: I needed a job when I transferred colleges. When I went back to Vegas, I found an ad online that was hiring girls. It was for solos so I thought I’d try it because the money was pretty good. Captain Jack Interviews Holly Hendrix

“In early March (2016), if I had to pick a front runner for the 2017 Best New Starlet, Holly would be my pick!” With those words, I introduced Holly Hendrix to the fans who read this blog. At the time, I had seen Holly in only a few scenes and she was quite impressive. Nothing else she did over the course of the year dampened my enthusiasm for this anal starlet. Captain Jack: Now that you’ve had time to think about it, how do you feel about winning Best New Starlet? Has it sunk in yet?

Holly Hendrix: (laughs) Honestly, I can say since I’ve been back to work that it has sunk in a little bit. The title itself, not quite, but the fact that I feel kind of differently coming back to work. I feel differently getting on set because I feel people are looking at me differently. I feel my relationships with people are different and I feel that I have to hold myself differently and carry myself in a different way now. So, yeah, I can say it has sunk in. I feel like more of a porn star than I have before.

CJ: You were overcome with emotion when you won the award that you couldn’t form proper sentences. Let’s give credit where it’s due. Who do you want to thank?

Holly: I definitely want to give credit to AVN, not to mention my agent John, the whole entire agency as well. I want to thank them for having my back. Ryan Riesling, for being one of my best friends in the industry. I want to thank Piper Perri. Evil Angel and Jonni Darkko. I want to thank Adriana Chechik for being a role model. I also want to thank you, of course, Jack, for all you’ve done. Also, Mason from HardX. I did thank her on stage but I don’t think anyone caught that. And I also want to thank Markus Dupree.

CJ: Who were wearing a gorgeous red dress that night. Tell me the story of how you got it.

Holly: The day of the awards show, Mandy (Muse) and I were in the room and we found the red dress under the curtains. I think that the people that had the room before had left it there and the maids didn’t notice it or we had some girl come and party with us and I don’t remember. I don’t know. But we found the dress in the corner of the room and there were stains on it and it was all wrinkled up…it looked like shit! She held it up to me and said, ‘Is this your dress? It’s beautiful!’ I told her no but she suggested I wear it because it looked good on me. It was a little too big but it fit me better than the black dresses you saw. It was kind of a miracle, finding the dress the day of.

CJ: Where do you go from here? Do you have any goals for 2017?

Holly: Oh, totally. I’m launching my website. I am slowing down work because, unfortunately, I’ve had some physical body problems that are causing me to lay off work for a minute so it allows me to focus on bigger, better things. I am definitely launching my website this year. I am planning on shooting another showcase for Jonni Darkko. As far as the IR thing goes, I plan on making it exclusive for my website because I know how much other people could make off me for that. So it’s time for me to start making money in my sleep so that’s my number one goal for this year. Other than that, I plan on collaborating with Darkko because I want to get the feel of directing because I want to get out of performing as much as I do. I want to start directing and leaning towards that.

CJ: So you want to get out of performing totally?

Holly: It’s not that I want to permanently get out of performing. I want to get out of performing as much as I do. And I want to lean towards directing. Just like Jonni. He’s a talent in some of his stuff but he’s also the most bad ass director out there. I can be a talent for some of my stuff but I can also be a director. I’d be on film sometimes but not as much.

CJ: As you alluded to, you are known for your anal scenes. Yet you’re only 4’10”, you are very petite. Are you worried about any long-term effects on your health of doing extreme anal scenes?

Holly: That’s another thing. I’m trying to gain weight, that’s another big goal to add to my 2017 goals. With the amount of anal that I do, it’s going to be hard to gain weight. I do plan on being a little bit more outrageous and showing off a little bit more, being able to impress. I want to show people what I can do. What people don’t understand is that the outrageousness that you’ve seen before, there was no freshness. There was no ‘this girl took 2 months off in order to do something like that.’ I actually went 30 days back-to-back-to-back and then went kind of crazy and did all this crazy shit. Holly: I definitely feel under more pressure now than ever. This title is very overwhelming for me. I want to be able to prove that, yes, I did deserve Best New Starlet. But it’s hard to prove it because I don’t feel that I really worked for it. I didn’t try for this award. Some other girls tried. Very hard. I believe that I have definitely earned this. There was no rigged-ness. There was no having to suck someone’s dick for it. There wasn’t any me trying to convince anyone. I never once said ‘I need to win Best New Starlet’. It was so extremely humbling that I won. My agent had never had a girl, in his entire time in porn, win Best New Starlet. Ever. So I’m like the steak to his potatoes right now. I feel so honored.

CJ: In December, on LA Talk radio, you hinted that something big was happening in February or March. Is it still a big secret? Or can you give us some intell?

Holly: Yes. It’s the showcase with Jonni. I will be starting to film that around February or March. That’s the big thing. It’s going to be a big release.

CJ: You’ve started exploring some mainstream work including an Esquire interview. Do you want to go mainstream or is the porn life for you?

Holly: I definitely want to lean more towards porn because my big dream, once I retire from performing, is to be a very successful Evil Angel director. And I WILL BE an Evil Angel director, I’m not just saying I want it. I’m not saying I need it. I’m saying it WILL happen. I will be an Evil Angel director. I seriously have a passion for Evil Angel, moreso than porn itself. If it wasn’t for Evil Angel, I wouldn’t enjoy porn as much as I do. My dedication for Evil is so big that I would be willing to own this company and work my fucking ass off and do whatever it takes to own this because I want everyone to know what porn could be. CJ: I love your passion for this industry. You are phenomenal.

Amber got her start with Burning Angel a couple of years ago. This girl has a few tattoos but she is more known for her large sexual appetite, as I found out. Amber: Not a whole lot. I wasn’t a huge fan of random sex but I would definitely talk to a person and try and date them for a while. Sometimes it wouldn’t necessarily work out. I was 17 going after guys that were 30. (laughs) That didn’t always work out but more than a dozen but probably less than 50. (laughs)

CJ: How and why did you decide to get into the adult industry?

Amber: At first, it was a revenge thing to a guy I had been seeing for around 2 years. But I dated him when I first turned 18. We were already having groupsex, threesomes, foursomes, orgies….He was the one who I started opening up to and doing different things sexually. I knew I was into girls and I didn’t really want to give girls up so he said, ‘How about we just have friends over?’ So we had that then we broke up. So I decided to do porn.

CJ: With this guy, you had two girls and a guy but was there any scenarios with two guys and you?

Amber: Well, there was an orgy but there wasn’t two guys at once. Maybe a blowjob while getting fucked but it wasn’t double penetration or anything like that.

CJ: Does your family know what you do?

Amber: Yes. They’re really supportive of me. They found out really quickly. I’ve always been the person to do my own thing and everyone in my life knows I write my own rules. I don’t think it was very farfetched for me to do porn. ‘Oh, great. She’s doing porn. What’s next?’ (laughs)

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?

Amber: When I was born, there was a pornstar named Amber Lynn who was feature dancing not very far from the hospital. It was a running joke because my mom’s middle name is Lynn. Other family members said they should call me ‘Amber Lynn’ because of her. They didn’t do that but I chose that name as my first name in porn. I grew up hearing that story a lot. The Ivy part comes from my favorite band, The Cramps, after Poison Ivy, the lead guitarist for it.

CJ: So what was your first scene like? You were sexually experienced but it’s different with all these people around. Were you intimidated? Nervous? Turned on?

Amber: I was really nervous. My first scene was for Burning Angel called The Grinch Who Gaped Christmas. Joanna Angel was spray painted green from head to toe. Coming to LA was a magical thing and then going to a set where there were directors and people putting things together so it looked like Christmas. I loved it immediately. ‘If this is what porn is, sign me up!’ (laughs) I wanted to get spray painted green. It was really fun. I did my first scene with Xander Corvus. I was really nervous but it went really well. It even got nominated!

CJ: How long did it take you to master the little tricks that girls have to do like arching, opening up and all that stuff?

Amber: I think a while because I only shot for Burning Angel for about a year, then I shot for Peter North. My first year, I have about 5 scenes total. I don’t think I learned a lot in those 5 scenes until the past year when I moved to LA and got an agent and started doing it for real. It’s amazing and I love it. I think the last year is when I learned all the camera tricks.

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Amber: I like being on top but I think on film, I like a sideways missionary where I’m on my elbow propped up. I think that looks the best. But in real life, I like being on top or in missionary with my legs up.

CJ: With your legs up? Are you flexible? Can you put your ankles behind your head?

Amber: Yeah I can do that. But I just like them up, nothing crazy, They don’t have to be crazy pretzel folded. (laughs)

CJ: Have you ever been in an inappropriate sexual relationship?

Amber: Not at all! I almost wish I did for a good story! Most of my teachers were female growing up. I didn’t really have an attraction for older men until I was 17 or 18. But then they weren’t even that old, they were like 30. They were old enough for a considerable amount of age difference but not like ‘I want to fuck my friend’s dad or anything like that.’

CJ: So you like older men, is 30 the oldest guy you’ve been with off-camera?

Amber: I think that has been it. There are some older than that in the industry, however.

CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Amber wet?

Amber: I like being in charge. (laughs) I’m more dominant than submissive in bed, I’ve always been that way, even before porn. Sex should just flow but you can steer it in certain directions. I don’t necessarily like a guy to be completely submissive. I like having subs and I’ve done a little bit of pro dom work but I prefer having sex with men that are not completely submissive but are open to it. I’d rather do the tying up than being tied up.

CJ: In your personal life, have you ever used a strap-on on a guy?

I used to be but it’s something I’ve grown out of. CJ: What are you like off-camera? What are your hobbies and interests?

Amber: Art and photography are definitely huge hobbies of mine. I started college at a really young age and got my degree in art. I’m trying to utilize it this year and branch out. Last year was moving to LA and figuring out what I’m doing. This year, I think is the year that I really buckle down and creating more since I’ve gotten away from that quite a bit. Anything I can put my hands on! Crafting…I know how to do a million things! I can knit, I can sew, I played the flute for 9 years. I dabble in a lot of stuff.

CJ: What kind of music do you like?

Amber: Rock ‘n Roll. The Cramps are my favorite band. A close second would be Jack Off Jill. I like rock; I like riot girl music, anything that’s a little gritty and not completely put together because that’s what rock is. It’s not well organized.

CJ: Do you have any favorite movies?

Amber: I’m the worst with movies because I can’t really sit. I have ADD and can’t sit and watch a full movie. I can watch TV shows though.

CJ: What’s your favorite TV shows?

Amber: Twin Peaks, Pushing Daisies, Fringe. I know there’s more but that’s a couple.

CJ: What’s your favorite food?

Amber: I like Indian food.

CJ: What’s the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done?

Amber: Oh gosh. I feel like I just need to have an answer because I get asked this quite a bit. I feel I need to do something crazy.
