Captain Jack: Tell me about Ellie Murphy.
Ellie Murphy: I was born and raised in Oregon. We moved to Nevada from Oregon a few years ago. A welcoming party when we moved was a gigantic wolf spider in the garage. Being from Oregon, it was a big change. I had never been out of Oregon until we moved here. I started out in camming, I was in college before that. CJ: How old are you?
Ellie: I am 23.
CJ: How long have you been shooting now?
Ellie: I’ve been doing mainstream since last June so almost 9 months. I’ve been camming for going on 4 years now.
CJ: Before getting into sex work, were you a very sexual person?
Ellie: Yes and no. For the most part, I wasn’t until shortly before I got into the industry, maybe a year or two beforehand. But I also grew up in a conservative environment. CJ: Why did you decide to get into camming?
Ellie: Again, this relates to the car accidents, I was out of work and out of school, bored, watching documentaries on Netflix. I came across Life After Porn and a couple other ones that I can’t recall right now. It was about getting into porn and this was the early 2000s so it’s way different than it is now. I had a friend that I was hanging out with and found out that she had started camming. She invited me over to see what it was all about and I think that her plan was to try and get me on cam with her that night. I had zero idea that was the case until I got there. I saw that it was pretty easy and you can control how your room was and I figured I could do that. After considering the pros and cons, I thought whether I can handle when everyone finds out. The internet is forever! So, I decided to go for it. And with the help of my now-husband who has been in and out of the industry doing filming and photography and stuff, he had the insight and I started off on my journey. It was fun and it has led me here.
CJ: Why did you decide to make the next jump into porn?
Ellie: I want to experience the mainstream side of things, being that my camming stuff is all solo. I’ve done a few scenes with other couples or another performer but, for the most part, all my stuff was solo. I know I’d be good in mainstream and I enjoy sex, so that’s a bonus. It’s also a completely different side of things but I think it’s more fun for me now than camming because of the interactions and the back and forth. It’s a lot easier to interact with a person rather than a wall. I tried to make that jump originally in 2021 but I had been doxed and moved and was sick the year before. CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?
Ellie: Originally, I started under a different name, Cammy, and I have always loved the name Evelyn but I have a friend who goes by a very similar name and I couldn’t go by that. So, I started looking up different names that were Scotish or Irish in origin and started with ‘E’ because, for whatever reason, I decided I liked that. I liked Ellie and all of my fans were trying to help me come up with a last name and almost every single one of them chose Murphy because of my great skill of Murphy’s Law coming into every situation.

CJ: So, what was your first scene like? You were sexually experienced but it’s different with all these people around. Were you intimidated? Nervous? Turned on?
Ellie: My first scene was Jay’s POV so it was a little different because I didn’t have the extra people and the extra cameras being that it was a POV shoot. That was a little different than what I was expecting. I think it was a better way to ease into it. My first on-set shoot actually went a lot better than I expected. I was very nervous to be in front of the cameras with other people around. I do it online but there aren’t other people in the room. It really ended up being no issue at all and that was surprising but in a good way.
CJ: You were shy and reserved when you were in school so how is it now where you have to spread yourself open and do other things like that? Is it second nature now?
Ellie: It depends on the aspect. I still get a little nervous because there are so many people that I haven’t met yet. I worry more about meeting my co-performers than actually performing. Also, being a performer in general since I was little—I did drama in school plays and I’m used to being on stage in front of an audience—but it’s now become second nature to do so without having to be so concerned about how I look with clothes on or not. That was probably the hardest part for me at first; being in front of other people with my clothes off.
CJ: What’s your favorite position?
Ellie: It depends but for the most part it’s either reverse cowgirl or doggie.
CJ: You can’t really tell anything in pictures but you look kind of tall. How tall are you?
Ellie: I am tall. I’m a lot taller than people think. I’m 5’10” and it’s hard to tell in person sometimes because my husband is 6’8”.
CJ: Your husband is older so I take it you have no problems working with older men?
Ellie: No, I do not. I prefer it because they know what they’re doing, usually. They’ve been in the industry a little bit longer and they are more aware of how sex works.

Ellie: My husband is 46 so that’s the oldest.

Ellie: I have not watched any recent movies. I’ve got several favorites but it depends on what time frame you’re talking about. I have favorites from being a kid to more recent stuff.

Ellie: I am a crime show girl all the way. Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami. Numbers was probably my all-time favorite. Science and math have always been my nerdy things so Numbers was probably my top show ever.
