Payton Avery: I grew up in Alabama, my whole life, until a month ago when I moved to Florida. Me and my family would go to church every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. CJ: Did you ever get the volleyball scholarship?
Payton: Yes I did! I was focusing really hard and got offers from a lot of different colleges and my mom said, ‘I don’t think you should go far away to college.’ So I ended up going to college right across the street from where we lived. At a private Christian college so I couldn’t escape it! Everything in Alabama is just focused around the church; that’s how it is in the South. So I went there and I played volleyball for one year. But I hated school so much so I applied to random places to work at. I ended up getting a job at a veterinarian place. The doctor actually owned the practice himself. CJ: How tall are you because in volleyball you have to be fairly tall?
Payton: I’m 5’7 ½”. I played mostly back row when I was in college but in high school, I was front row. I also played softball growing up and I tried to get a softball scholarship because the college I went to, my mom actually went to and she played softball there. But I couldn’t balance the two sports so I just stuck with volleyball.
CJ: How old are you?
Payton: I’m 25, I just turned 25 in May.
CJ: How long have you been in the industry?
