Electra Rayne Talks with Captain Jack
Electra has been in the industry for 5 years now, realizing a childhood dream. She is starting to blow up and just did her first anal scene for Perv City. She is proud of hailing from Chicago and has loads of stories about her sexuality. We recently had a chance to chat as she was driving to Las Vegas. Enjoy!
Captain Jack: Tell me about Electra Rayne.
Electra Rayne: I’m from Chicago. I was born and raised in the suburbs but I live in the city now. I went to Northwestern and have 2 degrees. I graduated a year-and-a-half early and always knew I wanted to do porn. I started doing porn when I was at Northwestern. It made it to the school paper and it blew up and then The Daily Beast picked it up and it was a whole thing. My parents got divorced when I was young but I still have a good relationship with both parents. My family knows what I do, they have no problems with it. My sister thinks it’s cool actually. I’m actually a huge square and always have been.
CJ: How old are you?
Electra: I’m 24.
CJ: How long have you been in the industry?
Electra: 5 years now.
CJ: You have a very interesting tattoo on your arm. It’s two green bands with stars in between them. What does that signify?
Electra: It’s the Chicago flag with the skyline added to it.
CJ: When did you lose your virginity?
Electra: I was 14.
CJ: Is there a good story behind it?
Electra: It’s a cute story. I wanted to be a big slut real bad. I knew I had wanted to do porn since I was 11. I knew I was going to grow up to be a slut and I couldn’t wait to grow up so I could be a slut. I was 14, it was the summer before high school. I really wanted to get laid but couldn’t find anyone to have sex with me. I was in a summer theatre program and there was this guy. He’s quiet and nerdy and that’s my type. So we started hanging out and my goal from the beginning was to fuck. So we were hanging out and he asked if I wanted to go out with him and I said yes. So he stands up and yells, “I have a girlfriend!” And I’m like, “Wait, no. I’ll go out with you but that doesn’t mean that I’m your girlfriend.” So we hung out all summer and we fucked and, for a first time, it was pretty good. We high fived in the middle of the sex which I’m very proud of. We continued hanging out and ended up dating for four years and, to this day, he is still one of my very good friends.
CJ: When was your first time with a girl?
Electra: That is a really, really good question. The first time I did anything with a girl—kissing, touching over the clothes, anything—was my best friend in middle school. We were both very Emo and she was openly bisexual. She actually used the word bisexual. And I have always known that I was not straight. It never even occurred to me that I might be straight because it never made sense to me to write off half the population based on something like gender or genitals. I was always a really horny kid and was masturbating all the time. We would hang out for a whole weekend and I was always horny and she would tell me stories about going to make out with people in bathrooms at the mall. I don’t remember when exactly my first kiss happened but it was in that time frame. But I didn’t have sex sex with a girl until college because I didn’t know any queer women in the area that I grew up. But in college, the first time I fucked a girl was in a threesome. The first time I had one-on-one sex with a girl was my friend Jackie. We met because we were both into each other. We went on a date once and we don’t work one-on-one but we’re great in group settings. In fact, my long-time girlfriend, who I’m engaged to, the first time I had sex with her was in a threesome with Jackie. Jackie and I don’t really have one-on-one chemistry but I made a date with a girl and I was so nervous that I asked her for advice. So she told me some things and then I had to practice and I’m attempting to go down on her even though she doesn’t like being eaten out and I hate being eaten out. We’re not actually into each other, it was just a teaching scenario. Then someone walked in on us and we all have a conversation and I’m still trying to learn how to have sex with a girl.
CJ: You said you don’t like getting eaten out?
Electra: Oh my God, I hate getting eaten out. I probably shouldn’t say this but I will. It’s not in my hard limits list but it’s a step away. I hate it so much. It is my least favorite sex act. I would rather do literally do anything else. I would rather get spanked or have really intense nipple clamps or pee on me or something. I’m not into getting peed on but I’m fine with it. I would way prefer that to getting eaten out. Getting eaten out, to me, is the worst thing in the world. That being said, I love sucking dick and I love eating people out. I just don’t like receiving it.
CJ: You said you had a list that you numbered and it included blowjobs. Do you know how many people are on that list?
Electra: Before I had ever, ever, ever done porn, I only had sex with 2 people. Even to this day, it’s only about 15 maybe. That’s people not being related to work at all. I’m very quickly approaching my porn number exceeding my personal life number. That’s guys specifically.
CJ: Did you start stripping right when you turned 18?
Electra: No, that’s my biggest regret about stripping. I started at 19 and my only, only, only regret is that I wished I had started sooner. I actually did porn before I was stripping.
CJ: How did you make your way into porn? Did you just send your picture out to agencies?
Electra: No agency would work with me. I just signed with Nexxxt Level at the very end of 2020 and that was the first time I was ever able to get an agency to say yes. I’m a size 8 from Chicago with tattoos so that did not lend well to people wanting to work with you. Stripping is the same way, it’s hard for me to get hired for some reason. But once I’m there, I don’t just do well, I’m the clubs’ top earner.
CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?
Electra: This is kind of funny and a little embarrassing. I absolutely adore my stage name, I love it. That being said, I picked it for stupid, fucking reasons. I picked ‘Rayne’ just because it sounded good with ‘Electra’. I spent weeks pouring over lists of last names with my boyfriend, who was not thrilled about me doing porn. I told him when we started dating that as soon as I turned 18, I was doing porn. His options were to deal with it or don’t be with me. I’ve wanted this since I was 11 and it’s not going to change. And I picked ‘Electra’ because I wanted something recognizable and something that doesn’t sound like everyone else. Nikki Sweet is a good friend of mine but that’s a common name. When I was 18 and picking stage names, the whole ‘daddy’ thing; it obviously existed but it was not what it is today. And even still, me being the smart ass, thought of naming myself ‘Electra’ after the Electra Complex. Does anyone really know what that is? Most people don’t know what that is! That’s fine because I am nerdy and that’s part of me.
CJ: So what was your first scene like? You were sexually experienced but it’s different with all these people around. Were you intimidated? Nervous? Turned on?
Electra: I was not nervous at all except for the ‘Oh no, what if I’m bad and they don’t like me and what if this thing that I’ve wanted since I was 11 doesn’t work out?’ The funny thing is, it kind of didn’t work out but then, magically, the last year-and-a-half, it started working. I’m living out my childhood dreams now, which is awesome. My first three scenes were for Insect which was the world’s first fetish porn site. It is torture porn. Literally torture porn. It’s not even about the sex. It’s tie you up for 8 hours in a warehouse and beat the shit out of you. It’s more intense than anything I like in my personal life. That being said, I didn’t feel unsafe or anything at the shoot. They were very professional and that wasn’t a concern. I wasn’t nervous but I will say I was into kink growing up. In college, I went on to become the president of the school’s kink information society. My first shoot was for a site called Hard Tied. I got there and told them I did kink stuff and BDSM stuff, whatever. I went there and as he’s tying me, I realized that I had never done rope bondage. I did a lot of Ds elements but the most I’ve been confined to is being handcuffed to the bed. I’ve never been fully mobilized or anything. I wasn’t scared, I was just concerned that I’d be bad at it. But it went fine.
CJ: Are you more submissive in your personal life too?
Electra: No. I grew up submissive and in high school and college, I was a switch. It’s interesting because, to be perfectly honest, in my personal life, I’m a top. Not a dom, a top. My personal sex is mostly sex with women and I am mostly a giver, not a receiver. And so it patterns most easily than when you add in a kink dynamic to be dominant when you’re also a top. Yes, you can be a dom and be on the bottom but it flows most naturally to be dominant. Also, my partner is extremely submissive and a wonderful bottom. But I am mostly a switch.
CJ: What’s your favorite position?
Electra: I hate being asked this because I don’t have an answer. It entirely depends on whoever the partner or partners are and how our bodies physically fit together. And my relationship with them.
CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Electra wet?
Electra: This may come as a huge shock to you but I am both an exhibitionist and a voyeur. I like being watched and like to watch. I like group stuff a lot. And, as I said, I am bisexual and extremely bisexual. I love queer shit. Last week, I got to do my first bi scene. And that was fucking awesome. I loved it and was the best shoot I ever did. It felt the most like what I do in my personal life when there isn’t a pandemic. I haven’t had personal life sex with someone who isn’t my partner since before Covid started.
CJ: How often do you masturbate?
Electra: The answer used to be literally 5 times a day minimum. But lately it’s been once a week and I don’t know why. I miss it being five times a day and I would like to get back to that.
CJ: Favorite method?
Electra: I have one specific vibrator that I love. It’s the Oval S5, it’s discontinued and the one that I have, I’m pretty sure it’s the last one in the whole world. I had one for many, many years, it broke and it had a 15-year warranty. So I emailed the company and they told me that the toy was discontinued and offered to let me pick out any other toy from their product line. I was like, ‘No, you don’t understand. I NEED that toy!’ The guy put me on hold and checked around his warehouse. He had one left from a promotional kit from years prior. He sent me that one and said that’s the last one ever!
CJ: You wanted to get into porn since you were 11-years old. I’m assuming you watched porn?
Electra: Here’s the story, I did and I thought I had a horrible porn addiction and I thought I was a horrible misogynist and I thought there was something wrong with me. In 5th grade, a friend and I decided that it would be funny if we went to boobs.com. It used to be a directory of different porn sites. So we went on there and my friend is, ‘Ewww. This is so weird and gross!’ I was, ‘Uh, yeah, definitely!’ Then, after she left, I went back to it and on the home page was Hogtied.com. I thought those images were intriguing. I went back all the time and watched all the trailers. I was watching video of these women getting abused and I thought I had a pornography addiction, that seems bad. It wasn’t a compulsion, it was a scene once a week that I masturbated to. Nobody talks about girls watching porn so I thought there was something wrong with me. Finally, I saw a disclaimer where it mentioned all the girls were over 18 and they were paid and I saw the post-scene interviews where they said they would come back. Then it clicked in my head that they were paid models. That’s weird, who would want to do a thing like that. Wait, I’m a girl who would want to do a thing like that! There must be other people out there like me so I’m not that weird as I thought. It was a really important moment for me, accepting myself as a sexual creature. Once I could accept myself in that way, I could accept anything else about myself. So it was hugely influential. Also, at the time, I realized that I like a lot of shit that involves a lot of expertise and expensive gear, so doing it in porn sounds like having all my dreams come true. Hell, yeah, I want to do that so that’s how I decided I wanted to do that when I was 11.
CJ: I received this question from a woman fan who wants to know if you’ve ever had a mind-blowing orgasm that you forgot the camera was even there?
Electra: To be perfectly honest and I probably shouldn’t say this. I’m not talking about content I create for myself because I can literally masturbate and make a video. I don’t know that I have ever had an orgasm period during a shoot. You’ll notice in my scenes, very, very rarely do I say, ‘I’m cumming,’ and I only say it if the director is very clear that is what he needs. I don’t want to fake it. I’m Secondary Orgasmic and what that means is, I can give myself an orgasm but nobody else can give me an orgasm. I promise you, this is not, ‘Oh, baby, you just haven’t been with the right person! Come here and I’ll make you cum!’ No, I’ve seen doctors about it, I’ve seen sex therapists and physical therapists about it, and it’s just how my body is wired. I can’t even get off with my own left hand. I can only do it with my right hand. I can do the exact same thing with my left hand but it doesn’t work. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have great sex. I have amazing sex! On-camera and off! I really think society in general, especially Americans, put way too much emphasis on orgasms and sex is all about getting to orgasms. I think it takes a lot away from sex. So I don’t like to fake orgasms because I don’t want to be fake and feel shitty and I think it’s really good to have more porn out there that shows good sex that doesn’t revolve around orgasms. I do get waves of intensity but there isn’t a physical orgasm that goes through my body but that doesn’t mean I’m not satisfied.
CJ: You just did your first anal for Perv City. How was it?
Electra: It was awesome! It was really great. I was nervous going into it because Ramon Nomar has a pretty big dick and, also, I haven’t done that much anal in the past couple of years. Anytime I’ve done anal, up until that shoot, I can go clean and prep and practice literally right before it’s about to happen. But when you’re doing an anal shoot, you’re on set all day and you have to be cleaned and stretched and ready to go before you start. So that was very nerve-wracking or me but everything went very well. The very first insertion hurt pretty bad so I had to take a second. I went back to the dressing room, I took a deep breath and gave myself 30 seconds to cry and then I freaked out a little. I said to myself that I can’t do it and I’m not the awesome slut I thought I was. I took a couple of deep breaths, fucked myself with a dildo and told myself I can handle this. I walked back out to set with the dildo still in my ass. I took it out, said I’m ready, and it was one of the easiest shoots I’ve ever done from there. Easier than even pussy shoots a lot of the time. I don’t know why exactly but it was a wonderful experience.
CJ: When was your first anal experience?
Electra: It was the same boyfriend who was my first vaginal experience. Probably about a year or so later. And this was something we both wanted to try. That boyfriend was so wonderful. I had two boyfriends in high school and they were both shockingly wonderful for 15-year boys as sexual partners and life partners. They are still in my top 5 best friends forever. I hope every young person who wants a boyfriend has a chance at a boyfriend as fantastic as the two I had.
CJ: Do you have any fantasies you would like to live out on camera?
Electra: That’s a really good question. Up until last week, I would have said I want to do bi stuff—and I still want to do more bi stuff. Actually I do. I want to do a medical fetish scene but I don’t think they shoot those in the US. And I want to do more girl/girl stuff especially if it’s authentic and queer. The way queer women fuck is different than the way they shoot lesbian porn.
CJ: What are you like off-camera? When you have free time, what do you do for fun?
Electra: I just got my first horse. I’ve been riding horses for 20 years but I’ve never owned or leased a horse. To be perfectly honest, I am stressed and anxious about it all the time but it is one of the best decisions I ever made. I love him so much. He is my pride and joy. When I got him in the fall, he was really in bad shape. He was extremely thin and his feet were really fucked up. If you know anything about horses, that is the worst problem that they can have. And now he has special corrective shoes and he is on a weight gain diet. He’s doing really well now. When I’m home in Chicago, I board him about 45 minutes from my house and I see him almost every day when I’m home.
CJ: What kind of music do you like?
Electra: I grew up with Emo and that’s how I actually met my partner. I’m wearing a Fall Out boy t-shirt right now, they’re my favorite band. They’re from the suburbs of Chicago. I listen to a little bit of everything and I know everyone says that. My taste is all over the place but if you had to peg me to one style, it’s alternative Emo music.
CJ: Do you have any favorite movies?
Electra: I don’t really watch movies but I do have a favorite. It’s Jennifer’s Body.
CJ: What are your favorite TV shows?
Electra: I love adult cartoons. Almost all of them except Family Guy. My favorite is Futurama. I watch that before I go to bed every single night.
CJ: What’s your favorite food?
Electra: That’s hard. Vegetables. Fruits and vegetables, all of them. True story, back in high school, some people called me rabbit because all I wanted to do was eat vegetables and fuck.
CJ: And how can the fans follow you on social media?
Electra: On Twitter, I’m @ElectraRayne. I don’t have Instagram, they deleted me. But my personal website is ChicagoSlut.com and that links to everything else.
