Captain Jack: Tell me about Kendra Spade.
Kendra Spade: I grew up in a small town in Washington state. I was actually born in New Orleans because my family was in the military. Then we moved to Washington to be with my mom’s mom and her new husband, so my mom’s new stepdad. I just grew up in that area of Washington. It’s a really small town. Everyone knows everyone’s business. It’s like a town out of a movie. For example, my friend that’s visiting me right now doesn’t even know how to Uber. She was surprised! It’s a very small, dated town.
CJ: How old are you?
Kendra: I’m 19 years old.
CJ: You’ve only been shooting for a short time, right?
Kendra: I went up on the Spiegler site on October 31. He told me I was a Spiegler Girl at the end of September. I was actually booked for my first shoot on October 27. Before that, starting in June, I was shooting amateur porn. So there is some amateur content of me on the internet.
CJ: When you were an amateur, did you also go by Kendra Spade?
Kendra: No, it was just Kendra.
CJ: You have very nice breasts. What size are they?
Kendra: By the technicalities of measuring them, they’re a 32 Triple D because I have a small rib cage. CJ: You were with this guy for 5 years until you were 17. Were you with anyone else?
Kendra: This guy was the worst boyfriend there could ever be; I was such an idiot for being with him. He would cheat on me all the time. When I was just turning 17 and I was pretty much done with what he was doing but, mentally, I was very co-dependent on him because I had grown up with him, I started sleeping with other guys at parties. I was a little ho. (laughs) Once I got over that bridge and he went off to college because he was a year older than me, at that point, I just started getting really crazy. I started having sex with everyone I wanted to have sex with and I started making it my own personal mission to fuck all these people because I was going to leave that town. ‘I’m going to fuck him and him and him and him and then after I get done fucking him, I’m going to leave’ and that’s exactly what I did! CJ: You said you wanted to leave that small town. Did you have any goals or were you headstrong on getting into porn?

So I got him into the college and, let me tell you, he had a worst class rank than me, a worst SAT score, a worst GPA, worse extra-curricular activities…I was an excellent candidate and I wrote both of our papers and he got in and got way more scholarships and I didn’t get in and didn’t get any scholarships! And my parents couldn’t pay for me to go to college. So I went to California and kept on doing the job I was doing since I was 15 and went to college here. I became a resident because it’s much cheaper than Washington state and ended up doing porn!
CJ: How did you get into the industry? Did someone recruit you?

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?
Kendra: Me being in porn is a business so I wasn’t going to go with some random name that I came up with on the fly. This is actually not the name that I wanted to be. I wanted it to be a name that if people heard it, they wouldn’t have to wonder how to spell it. Kendra Spade is pretty straight forward. When I googled my stage name, nothing came up. There was no Kendra Spade for anything. I was able acquire kendraspade.com pretty easily; I acquired Kendra Spade Twitter, Kendra Spade Instagram and Kendra Spade Snapchat. I have all the Kendra Spades domains for everything. After going through the internet and researching names, this is like the 20th name I had gone through. And it worked out that I can say I’m the Queen of Spades because there isn’t another performer in the industry that’s a Spade. CJ: What’s your favorite position?

It’s so fun. I love my job. I fucking love my job!
CJ: If you’re first scene made you feel so uncomfortable, why did you keep doing it?
Kendra: At that point, because everyone knew, I couldn’t turn back. I just had to own it. After everyone found out, all my close friends said, ‘No, dude, just own it. We love you It’s totally ok!’ All my true friends were out there supporting me. Honestly, probably 5-600 of my followers on Twitter and Instagram are actually people that have known me my entire life and went to kindergarten with me. I have a lot of people and a safety net of friends and family that really do care about me and even if they don’t necessarily support the job I’m doing, they support me.

Kendra: I love Big Little Lies, that was sooo good. I love How To Get Away With Murder and Scandal and House of Cards. I like the government and political shows a lot. I used to want to work in Washington DC for the longest time. I wanted to go to the University of Washington and be a lawyer or politician in DC so I love shows like that.
